On May 15th at 1922 hours Washington County ECC alerted box 6-16 for the house fire on Mapleville Road. While crews were responding Support 161 went on scene with smoke showing. Captain 6 requested the safety assignment and a tanker taskforce due to the fire being in a non hydrant area. Engine 61 arrived along with Truck 6 to a single story house with smoke showing on the delta side and Captain 6 established Mapleville Command and assigned Deputy Chief 8 as fire attack. Crews found a microwave fire that had extended to the cabinets and into the walls. Crews worked to extinguish the fire, perform overhaul, ventilation and ensure the fire had not spread any further. No injuries were reported by the occupants or any first responders. The scene was turned over to the Maryland State Fire Marshalls Office. Crews cleared the scene and returned to service at 2130 hours. |
