13:19 hours. Station 6 was alerted for an outside fire. Upon arrival crews on E61 found an approximate 50ft by 50ft area of brush on fire. E61 requested an additional brush truck to assist with the fire, crews used handlines, rakes, and shovels to move the debris which was in some areas 3ft deep. The fire appears to have been a controlled burn of tree stumps which spread with the wind damaging a fence and other trees in the area. As always if you are going to have a controlled burn please remain with the fire until it is fully out, all controlled burns should be reported to the Washington County Emergency Dispatch Center on their non-emergency line at 240-313-4345.
