On Thanksgiving evening the Paramedic unit from Boonsboro Rescue Company while returning to quarters ran across a serious head on collision on the Old National Pike, the assignment was requested bringing Company 6 & RSQ69 to the scene. E62, DC6 responded with 2 personnel. While en-route aviation was requested for a priority 1 category A trauma patient still entrapped. Engine 62 arrived on scene and Deputy Chief 6 assumed command, and determined we had 2 vehicles head on with a single occupant in each vehicle, one heavily entrapped, and one confined. Command requested E61 to establish an LZ at station 69. The Medic crew, along with E62 & RSQ 69 & 10 crew's worked to free both occupants. One patient was flown via Trooper 3 to shock Trauma, while the 2nd patient was transported by ground to MMC, and later transferred to Shock Trauma. The First Hose Company of Boonsboro would like to thank our mutual aid partners for a job well done.
